Your privacy

We ask for as little as possible, and we're plain about what we do with it

You're trusting us with receipts. Here is exactly what happens to them — no vague trust badges, no certifications we haven't earned.

Stored privately, scoped to your account

Every receipt, item, and record you add is tied to your account at the database level, not just hidden by the interface. Nobody browsing Ecroo can see another person's purchases — the separation is enforced where the data lives, not just in what the screen shows.

No inbox connection

No inbox connection is required. Ecroo does not connect to Gmail, Outlook, or any other inbox today — you add purchases yourself, by typing them in or uploading a receipt. If an optional inbox connector is offered later, it would need your separate approval first.

You decide what's added, and you can remove it

Nothing appears in your account unless you put it there. If you change your mind about a purchase you added, you can remove it — it isn't kept around after you've asked for it to go.

We never invent store rules

Any policy we act on is one we've actually verified and can point to a source for. If we don't have a verified policy for your store, we say that directly instead of guessing at what a policy "probably" is.

What we ask for

The minimum, and nothing more

To check a purchase, we need the store, the item, the amount, and the date. We don't need your full card number or your bank sign-in details to look at a store's published policy — so we don't ask for them.

Important disclosures

The details in writing

  • Privacy Policy — what we collect, why, and who processes it.
  • Terms of Use — the rules, and why recoveries are never guaranteed.
  • Your data controls — request a copy of your data or account deletion in Settings.

Automated reading and suggestions

Ecroo uses automated systems to read documents, organize purchase information, watch for rules and events, and suggest what to do next.

Automated results can be incomplete or wrong. Check important dates and the store's own requirements before you act on them.

Ecroo is an informational service. It is not the merchant, manufacturer, regulator, insurer, bank or card issuer, law firm, or claims administrator, and it never contacts a store for you.
